The PTA (Passenger Terminal Amsterdam) was opened in 1970 to provide a dock and welcome center for over 150 cruise ships arriving in the Netherlands each year, and it continues to play a vital role in welcoming 300,000 visitors to Amsterdam annually. The building was redesigned in 1997 and it’s a beautiful example of modern architecture set in a historical location.
