There has been a major fire in the OVH datacenter in Strassbourg on the night of the 10th of March. SBG1 was completely destroyed and SBG2 suffered partial damage. SBG4 was not affected but all network connectivity has been pulled. It is expected that SBG4 will be back online in a 2 week timeframe.
We’d like to assure our clients that we do not provide services from this datacenter facility. Your servers and data are safe.
If those who have lost their server or VPS during this ordeal and requires urgent hosting or VPS services, we currently offer a 25 % lifetime discount on our VPS’es. These can be refunded without questions within 15 days, so this provides you with free emergency hosting while OVH gets back on their feet.
To mitigate such emergencies we backup all client data in 2 separate offsite datacenter locations to avoid a situation such as this from happening.
