Convenience, security and privacy are at the core of Apple Pay and Google Pay. When a user adds a credit or debit card to Apple Pay or Google Pay, the actual card numbers are not stored on the device or on remote servers.
Instead, a unique Device Account Number is assigned, encrypted and securely stored in the Secure Element on their device. Customers can now check out with just their fingerprint.
It is easy to set up and users will continue to receive all of the rewards and benefits offered by their credit and debit cards. Apple Pay will work with the iPhone 6 and onward as well as with Apple Watch. Google Pay can be used on all Android devices from version 5.0 (Lollipop) onward.
